For more than 55 years, we have provided assistance and resources to Alberta families, educators, and adults who rely on LDAA for information, education, and help in finding what they need to navigate learning disabilities.
We strive to support and empower the 1 in 10 Canadians living with learning disabilities every day through our 3 priorities:

Educate
- Create and provide year round programs, educational sessions, and webinars on a variety of topics
- Deliver the Right to Read – a research-based program for educators that provides tools on how to identify and support children with reading difficulties in their early school years
- Offer Professional Development for Educators – webinar series and workshops covering various educational topics and led by industry experts. The professional development is targeted for educators, administrators, and practitioners
- Provide programs and resources for families and adults
Collaborate
- Collaborate with organizations to bring opportunities and resources to those living with learning disabilities
- Offer annual Youth Scholarships & Awards
- Provide the Alberta Learner’s License Preparation Kits
Advocacy & Research
- Collaborate with industry experts to advocate on what matters
- Share the latest education and trainings on our website
- Partner, lead, and stay involved with advocacy efforts that make a difference
