President
Melanie has a MSc in School Psychology and has been a Registered Psychologist in Alberta since 2008. She is currently the Manager of Psychological Services & Programs department at Foothills Academy Society. She is also an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary.
These positions allow Melanie to guide a staff group, many who are in training to become psychologists, in evidence-based assessment and intervention techniques in the areas of Learning Disabilities and ADHD.
She advocates for a strengths-based approach; to not only seek to understand what a child’s difficulty might be, but also what their “islands of competence” might be (i.e., areas of pride and accomplishment).
